At The McDonald's in John Day

It is a nice place. Quiet, with country music playing. It is also airconditioned. I need that. And I'm having an iced coffee to perk me up.
This morning I dropped the bike at the stop sign at the top of the hill leaving the campground. That is the side where the cruise control fell off yesterday. Today's drop broke off about 2 inches of the front brake lever. Now I need to get one of those. Looks like I'm headed to Sierra BMW in Sparks Nevada for a parts run.
The run along 14 was beautiful. The only people who passed me were a FedEx van and a UPS semi. I picked up 395, crossed the river had a short stretch on 82 (which was the nicest piece of freeway I've seen so far), then back on 395 and the spaces and trees and streams and rivers of Umatilla and John Day country. Beautiful two lane smooth roads alternating curves and long straight sections. Very little traffic and beautiful views. I wish I had more pictures.
