I started out making the Pack-it Gourmet strawberry cheesecake. It turned out very well, very dense and also very sweet. That dish was easy, just add cold water and wait 10 minutes, put the graham cracker crumbs on top, and enjoy. I hope I have another one.
The Natural High Ginger Curry Chicken was the main course. This required hot water so I chose the Back Country Boiler to heat the water. Getting the fire started was tricky, but once I got it going, it heated the water to boiling in the advertised ten minutes. But note to self: always wear gloves when picking it up. The water (very hot boiling water) slopped out of the top hole and onto my first two fingers. Ouch, I said. Ouch, ouch, ouch. The food was okay. It rehydrated well and had flavor. It filled the void.
Next up, set camp. Then to sleep because I feel the miles.
