From Burns to Susanville

The run from Burns down to Frenchglen was wonderful. Long straights, some hills and twistys thrown in, and lots of birds. The road takes you through the Malhuer Lakes, which are huge wetlands.

Note how high the back bag is. This, plus it's weight, made the front wheel a little light. I fixed that later.

After the lakes, the road is in and out and up and over prairies, sage flats and rim rock. Really pretty high desert. And next to no traffic. The perfect place to practice motorcycle skills.

Then came Frenchglen. A little place with an historic inn, facing on more wetlands. A pretty place where i got some coffee, and chatted up some other travellers. Who is Sarah Palin and why does anyone care?

The pictures of the Inn are on the iPhone, so I will post them from there.

Typical views along the road to Plush. A word about the road. It is a gravel road with a good, solid base. But it has loose gravel on top. This makes for a skittish bike. I reloaded the bags, and it was better.
