I'm having lunch at La Posada (1930), designed by Jane Coulter. The literature says it is the last remaining railroad hotel built by Mr. Harvey. A very nice place. Tall ceilings, dark, cool rooms. Very pleasant.
For lunch I'm having their Signature Soup: one side is a corn chowder, the other is spicy black bean, topped with chipotle cream sauce. Oh, and the Crispy Carnita Platter. I am making this sacrifice for Bob, who never met a Carnita Dorado he didn't like.
They start you out with a bit of cornbread and honey. Wow!
Other than the staff, I'm the youngest male in the room.
The soup was deelishus. Oskar would like it. Great combination of spicy and cool.
The Crispy Carnitas Platter smells good, but looks to be a challenge. Here's to you Bob!!
Oskar says it looks tasty
